Internship - 2010

On July 5, 2010 Karoll welcomed its  interns: Maria Hristova (Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski), Ivo Mishaikov (New Bulgarian University), Ilian Paskalev (Varna Free University), Stoyan Petrov (University of National and World Economy), Atanas Kyurkchiev (University of National and World Economy), Stanislav Stratiev (Academy of Economics "DA Tsenov", Svishtov). For one month they were trained in the intricacies of money management, investment process, financial markets, etc. Every day from 14.00 to 16.00 interns the trainees attended lectures on specific topics related to the fields of activity of Karoll. In addition, each intern received an individual research task that had to be developed within the practice and to be presented to the experts of our companies. The interns' research work was supported by personal tutors.

The topics of the research projects were related to:

• Trends in the global ETF industry, worldwide comparison with the development of the mutual funds industry. Analysis of asset managers offer products on the markets of Central and Eastern Europe;
• Analysis of the macroeconomic environment and capital markets of Central Asia, focus on Kazakhstan and Georgia;
• Private banking - the experience of Swiss banks and the possibility for application of their experience in Bulgaria;
• Formation and development of financial derivatives markets - the experience of Central and Eastern Europe;
• Approaches and options for the development of M & A (Mergers and Acquisition) in Bulgaria;
• Energy Efficiency - trends and growth potential in Bulgaria;
